Compact torque limiter ECE for indirect drives robust, perfected safety without compromises

Mechanical torque limiters are used in almost all areas of technology and protect products and high-quality machine parts in automatic systems from further damage.
The limiters react sensitively even with the smallest increase in torque and safely disconnect the motor drive from the subsequent masses of the machine in a split second, which is why they are also known under the term "safety coupling".

The separation is forced and purely mechanical, i. e. a possible power failure has no effect on their function. The reason for the increase in torque can be material jams, for example, which lead to overloads in the drive train. This is why we speak of overload protection in this context, hence the common name "overload clutch".

The ECE series is particularly characterized by its axially short design, which opens up many advantages for narrow installation spaces. A thousand times proven, robust and simple construction results in a safe switching behavior and still manages without competition with extremely few individual parts.
Precise torque limitation is guaranteed by the disc springs used, which also enable large adjustment ranges without changing the disc springs.

The sophisticated ball detent principle interrupts the drive train between the motor and the machine within a few degrees. The standard couplings have only one locking point per 360 degrees. However, several tab locations are possible on request.

The stroke of the balls can be queried with a proximity switch and the resulting signal has to be send to the control to switch off the drive.

The torque is transmitted from the motor shaft with a feather key connection to the hub of the torque limiter. The respective output parts (sprockets, toothed pulleys, flanges or similar) are mounted on the drive shaft and simply screwed onto the flange ring for torque transmission.

With overall 14 sizes, a total setting range of 2 to 900 Nm is achieved.
The type ECE is also optionally available in stainless steel!
